Job Description


We are a full service independent insurance agency seeking a Manager for our Personal Lines department. In addition to managing three other individuals in the department, the manager will service a book of business. Approximately 75% - 80% of the manager’s time will be servicing the needs of our clients (book of business) and 20% 25% of the manager’s time will be overseeing the department’s three other employees. The manager of this department must be fully knowledgeable of the various aspects of coverage as well as the needs of each individual account. Being familiar with carrier rating programs and underwriting guidelines is a must.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the personal lines department
  • Communicate with customers and prospects on a daily basis
  • Interact with the various insurance companies we represent
  • Market accounts for both new and renewal business
  • Liaison with producers - expanding book as well as cross sell within existing book
  • Review and maintain accuracy within client database system
  • Management of endorsements, correspondence, invoicing and billing

 


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience & related training
  • 5+ years Personal Lines Account Manager experience in an independent insurance agency required
  • Must hold a current P&C License
  • Experience with Insurance Agency Management software.  (Applied / Epic is a plus)
  • Strong people skills: Ability to develop rapport with clients, co-workers, and company underwriters
  • Ability to organize time efficiently
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Fast paced and multi-tasking
